Definitions
- Application (or App)
- The Driver License & ID Scanner mobile software product.
- ID Data
- Information read from a document you scan — a name, date of birth, document number, expiry date, or the document image itself.
- Personal Data
- Any information that can identify you, directly or indirectly.
- Device Data
- Any information stored locally on your device.
How the App handles your data
On-device by design. Scanning and text recognition run locally. The App does not upload the images or details of your identity documents to us or to any external server.
What the App reads
When you point your camera at an ID or license, the App reads the document to extract details such as the name, document number, and printed dates. This happens on your device so you can view, copy, or save the result.
Where it stays
Any scans you choose to save remain in the App's storage on your device. You can delete a saved scan at any time, and removing the App deletes this data.
No account required
The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or register. Core features work without providing Personal Data to us.
No advertising or tracking
The App contains no ad networks, cross-app tracking, or profiling analytics. We do not sell your information or build a profile from the documents you scan.
Permissions we request
The App asks only for what it needs, and you can change this anytime in your device settings.
- Camera — to capture the document you want to scan. The feed is processed in the moment to read the document; nothing is recorded or streamed.
Denying the camera permission will prevent scanning but won't otherwise stop you using the App.
Website
We don't actively collect personal information through our website, and it does not use cookies. Standard technical data such as your IP address may be logged by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
Analytics
If we use a website analytics service, it collects aggregate traffic information such as which pages are visited. This applies to the website only — the App contains no such analytics.
Retention & security
Scans are kept on your device for as long as you choose and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the App. We rely on your device's built-in protections, such as the operating system's app sandbox, to help keep this information secure.
No storage method is completely secure, so we recommend protecting your device with a passcode or biometric lock and deleting scans you no longer need.
Children's privacy
The App is intended for adults handling their own or authorized identity documents and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your Personal Data, including to access, correct, or delete it. Because the App keeps ID Data on your device rather than on our servers, you can exercise most of these directly by viewing or deleting scans in the App.
Under the GDPR (EEA and UK) and the CCPA (California), you have rights to know what is collected and to request deletion. As we do not collect or sell your ID Data, there is no sale of personal information to opt out of. For anything the website may hold, contact us below.
